What Is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine allows you to meet with a Fast Aid Urgent Care provider through a secure video visit using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. You’ll receive the same quality care and attention as an in-person visit all from wherever you are in Texas.

Our telemedicine visits are conducted by experienced Fast Aid providers based at our Potranco & Hunt Lane location and are available to patients at any of our Texas clinics.

Conditions We Treat Via Telemedicine

Telemedicine is appropriate for the following urgent care needs. All other conditions require an in-person evaluation:

• Simple dysuria (uncomplicated urinary symptoms in females only)*
• Sore throat
• Rhinorrhea (runny nose)
• Allergy symptoms
• Flu symptoms
• Cough
• Diarrhea (simple, non-severe)
• Eye redness (without pain, vision changes, or injury)
• Skin rash (without fever or other systemic symptoms)
• Acne
• Sunburn
• Insect bites
• Non-traumatic back pain (specific criteria apply)
• Simple constipation
• Toothache
• Gout flare (established diagnosis)
• Minor knee and ankle injuries
• Vaginal discharge/itching following antibiotic treatment
• Some medication refills (non-controlled substances only)

*Simple dysuria requires: no abdominal/back pain, no fever/vomiting, no vaginal symptoms, no UTI in last 3 months, and recent menstrual period within 3 weeks.

*Some conditions require in-person evaluation. Our providers will let you know if an office visit is necessary.

Important Limitations

Please note the following limitations of our telemedicine services:

Medication Restrictions: We cannot prescribe controlled substances, behavioral health medications, or erectile dysfunction medications via telemedicine.

When You Need An In-person Visit

If our provider determines that your symptoms require a physical examination, diagnostic testing, or fall outside our telemedicine scope, we will direct you to the nearest Fast Aid location for in-person care. There is no charge for a telemedicine visit that converts to an in-person evaluation.

Reportable Diseases: Suspected or confirmed sexually transmitted diseases and other reportable conditions require in-person evaluation and cannot be treated via telemedicine.

Age Restrictions: Telemedicine services are available for patients ages 5-70 only.

Special Considerations: Patients with complex medical conditions, multiple chronic illnesses, or special needs may require in-person evaluation at the provider’s discretion.
